Conditioner and a metal fine-tooth comb. No insecticide. Recommended for children under two (unless a clinician advises otherwise) and for anyone who prefers to avoid chemicals.

Safety

• Suitable at any age, including under-twos, unless the scalp is badly broken — then see a pharmacist.
• Takes time and thoroughness. It is not a shortcut.
• Does not rely on killing eggs — you physically remove lice as they hatch.

How to use this lane

• Start today if you have found a live louse, or to confirm an unclear check.
• Every second day for 10–14 days.
• Check close contacts in the household the same week.
